Sniper Ghost Warrior: Contracts 2 Takes Sniping to Extreme Ranges
CI Games’ upcoming Sniper Ghost Warrior: Contracts 2 is taking the sniping experience to some extreme ranges.
For the first time in the series, long-range sniping is happening with a teaser today showing a kill from 1,506 meters away.
Along with the new long range shooting, Contracts 2 will feature more accurate weapons, heightened realism, and enhanced visuals.
“The Sniper community really enjoyed the changes we made with Contracts and the sniper’s paradise sandboxes but, based on their feedback, we designed the latest game with very long-range shots in mind,” said CI Games CEO Marek Tyminski. “We hope to continue building on the best sniping gameplay around and make significant steps forward in bringing modern, realistic sniping experience to consoles and PC. Our team is really excited to introduce the extreme range campaign in Contracts 2.”
Contracts 2 features a modern day 2021 Middle East setting with challenging long-range maps. Campaigns have been hand crafted to provide robust and engaging gameplay over these long distances in a way that will challenge the most skilled snipers. Plays will be tasked with completing complex challenges undetected from over a mile away.
Sniper Ghost Warrior: Contracts 2 releases this Winter on PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PS4 (one would assume also PS5).
Smith’s Sentiment: Sniper is a good series and Contracts 2 looks like its going to further elevate the already fantastic sniping experience to a whole other level. Distances over a 1,000 meters is pretty impressive, but I wonder how far the longest distance will be. In real life, the record for longest sniper confirmed kill is 3,450 meters, which is over two miles.
