This movie packs the feels. Like I said with the last review of Rocky 5, I find it works best if you skip the third and fourth installments of this series to keep things on an even keel, and for this movie, perhaps just skipping straight from the first movie this one is best for continuity’s sake.nThis movie is just one big sentimental moment after another, to the point you could basically call it a male chick flick, which sounds bad, but works perfectly.nThere are many nice nods to the original movie I won’t spoil. Rocky now spends his days as the owner of one of those restaurants in which the owner sits down with the guests to regale them with stories of his glory days in the sports world.nEvery year he, along with Pauli (the amazing Burt Young) go on a pilgrimage of old familiar sites to pay respect to the now departed Adrian, who had formerly been the center of Rocky’s universe and the one thing that kept this ridiculous series grounded in some kind of relatable reality.nThe most unbelievable part of the movie is of course, that Rocky/Stallone, now both senior citizens could, even in an exhibition match go toe to toe with the heavyweight champion of the world, but it is what it is.nThis movie gets the Rocky formula right, and is as good a feel good drama as you are likely to find.
