Season of the Splicer
Haven't played D2 in over a week, but we need to get back to getting a Grandmaster completion in.
Would've like to have seen if Fallen SABER would've been a problem for us or not.
Gm's kick my butt.
GM's are tough because of a combination of cheap and poor design.
I'm not sure who thought giving enemies wall hacks and aimbot in GM was a good decision, but they're an idiot.
The Proving Ground strike itself was just "here's a room with a lot of enemies, and no where to hide, good luck."
You said it on all symptoms. Good, I'm glad it's not just me. Every specific observation you made there is spot on.
There is a dramatic difference between the 1330 vs GM versions.
Proving Ground was beyond the pale. I saw some of the best elite Destiny players even say that's the hardest thing they have ever seen.
They need to get rid of the "cheap crap" and the other items you specified. Good challenge? Fine. Cheap @#$T? Bad. More trouble than it's worth. This is well past "git gud" and "get better gear." It's not reasonable and it's not fun.
Only Bungie could take something relatively simple like transmog and completely screw it up with an overly convoluted and needless system such as this. Way too much grinding to be able to change a few pieces of armor appearances, and then they're going to cap the amount of times you can do it in a season.
Just absurd. What's the point? The amount of armor pieces in the game that even look decent are very few. And it's not like stats on armor matters anyway. Shave a few seconds off an ability, makes zero difference.
And then raising the cost of Eververse shaders from 40 Bright Dust to 300 is just pathetic. Such a Bungie thing to do.
Transmog as it stands has to be one of their dumbest designs. Only a matter of time until they walk it back
Tis the Bungie way.
They'll walk it back, and then a large portion of the "community" will praise them for "listening."
^^ I've liked a lot of his videos and they have been very helpful. He is hardly the "negative basher hater" type. I agree with everything he said in this 100 percent and I pretty much agreed with that OP-ED you wrote about all of this, too, PP.
I'm at the point I hope someone steps up and buys the rights to this series off of Bungie.
Good video, agreed. Aztecross is one of the few D2 guys that I still watch.
Let's hope they have something good for next season.
Do we even know what the "plot" of next season is going to be?
Debating if I want to try and load up on bounties in preparation. Only character that isn't already 1310 is my Warlock, and he's 1309(1308 helmet holding him back). But I also have hardly touched the game in weeks.
This will actually be the first season I don't bother hoarding bounties.
So far no real complaints with any of the new content. Transmog is what we figured it would be.
I have no idea how far and wide crossplay is going to be allowed but this is a start.
I'll play until rank 100 and my main gets to the pinnacle cap.
Some of the new weapons are cool, but I'm tired of the way things are set up in this game.
The new activity is fun, but I don't like the continued Lure/Hammer/Splicer loop. Just let me play the activity and get loot from it without having to play playlist activities.
This will very much be a season where I'll primarily only play in a group, and probably only caring about VoG and GM's.
It's really a new coat of paint on a lot of the grind rinse and repeat "layering to do x to get x and z" over and over again... I agree it's run its course and I'm going to play it as I go along but definitely not killing myself by any means.
I think someone needs to buy the rights off of Bungie. I'm with you on that.
Destiny 2, and the first one as well, have been extremely successful and popular.
Yet, for reasons I don't understand, no one steps in to make that "Destiny clone" to compete with it.
Everyone jumped on the Battle Royale genre. The looters that were to be "Destiny killers" were all third person shooters that other than having loot were nothing like Destiny.
Meanwhile Bungie gets a pass to continue to phone it in because no one else wants to make a game like it. And they get a pass from the media for their BS because Bungie is so supportive of BLM and trans and gay rights.
Ubisoft routinely gets raked over the coals, for pretty much anything. Valhalla gets transmog that cost in-game currency, not real money, and it's terrible. A single player game sells time saver boosts like extra gold or XP, and that's predatory.
Bungie exploits the worst of full-priced game DLC and free-to-play MTX in a way that is unprecedented and nothing.
Now I personally don't care about their crappy MTX; I don't and won't buy Silver or anything that cost Silver. Hell I don't even go out of my way to get Bright Dust to try and buy any of it that way. Don't care one bit. I like capitalism, so go for it. But Bungie is full of commies, so it's funny seeing them run their business in the most ultra capitalist, bordering on extreme greed, manner possible.
This is the first season where I've barely played. I'm still in end of season mode. Which means more Red Dead for me, and ESO next month.
