Quick Look: Cloudpunk (PS4)

Quick Look: Cloud Punk

We’re starting a new occasional feature here on Vortainment in conjunction with our recently launched YouTube channel. It’s called Quick Look, where I’ll be showing the first 20-30 minutes of a game with a little bit of commentary over it. Like an early impressions thing before we do our written review. I’m completely new to doing commentary of any sort and generally not a big talker anyway, so it’s kinda hard for me and I’m going to need a lot of practice at it before I even begin to get comfortable. Also apologies for the audio quality, I am recording these directly from the PS4 and that means using a headset and not a decent microphone and with the commentary being recorded in with the PS4’s game recording function.

This is our first Quick Look, for Cloudpunk launching today on PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch. The game released on PC back in April.

My written review will be posted either over the weekend or early next week, depending on how long the game takes me to get through it.

A neon-noir story in a rain-drenched cyberpunk metropolis. It’s your first night on the job working for the Cloudpunk delivery service. Two rules: Don’t miss a delivery and don’t ask what’s in the package.

Your name is Rania. This is your first night working for Cloudpunk, the semi-legal delivery company based in the sprawling city of Nivalis. You go everywhere, from the Marrow below to the spires that pierce the grey clouds high above before scraping the edge of the troposphere. No delivery job is too dangerous, and no one is faster than a Cloudpunk driver.

In this story-based exploration game, you will meet a diverse range of characters including androids, AI and unscrupulous humans at every level of society. Everyone has a story, and in the course of one night in Nivalis, everything will change.
