Sony Says There’s Been No Change to PS5 Production

Yesterday, a report came out from Bloomberg stating that Sony had cut the PS5 production from 15 million units to 11 million units due to a production issue with the console’s custom designed system-on-chip.

Today, Sony has issued a statement to refuting this report.

“While we do not release details related to manufacturing, the information provided by Bloomberg is false. We have not changed the production number for PlayStation 5 since the start of mass production.”

Sony is set to stream a PS5 Showcase event tomorrow, where many expect we’ll finally learn the price and release date of the PS5 and PS5 Digital Edition.
