Blizzard has finally announced the Diablo 2 Resurrected release date, and it isn’t that far off.
The remaster is coming to PC (via Battle.net), PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch on September 23rd.
Resurrected includes the base Diablo 2 game as well as the Lord of Destruction expansion pack.
You can pick up Diablo 2 Resurrected as a standalone title, or as part of the Diablo Prime Evil Collection. This collection includes Diablo 3 Eternal Collection (Diablo 3, Reaper of Souls, Rise of the Necromancer, a Mephisto pet and Hatred’s Drasp wings).
By itself, Diablo 2 Resurrected is a $39.99 release. The Prime Evil bundle costs $59.99.
If you pre-order either Resurrected or the Prime Evil Collection, you’ll get Heritage of Arreat transmog for Diablo 3. This gives your Diablo 3 Barbarian character the blue war paint and leather armor of the Barbarian from Diablo 2.
Pre-ordering will also grant you early access to the Diablo 2 Resurrected beta, which is happening in August.
Patriot’s Position: I enjoy Diablo 3 but never played Diablo 2, so I am very much looking forward to this. It’s a good time to release too, because Destiny 2 will be a month into its 15th season. That’s always a good time to explore other games without missing much.
